Master Distiller Noel Sweeney began his distilling career at Cooley Distillery, Co. Louth in 1989. Having qualified with degrees in Analytical Chemistry and Total Quality Management, it wasn’t long before natural passion assured him the role of chief distiller/chief blender. Throughout the 28 years that followed, he helped establish many new Irish Whiskeys and is credited for the release of the multi-award-winning Connemara (peated) Irish Whiskey, Greenore Single Grain, and many others. These expressions have recently been complemented by the multi-award-winning Fercullen whiskey from Powerscourt. Each of these single casks have been released using spirit that was laid down by Noel and his teams.
